Artisan and farmers' market in the spa gardens

Old crafts, regional products and the Westphalian way of life - From Friday, 01 May to Sunday, 03 May 2026, from 11:00 to 18:00, the traditional craftsmen's and farmers' market in Bad Sassendorf's Kurpark once again invites you to stroll, marvel and buy.

Traditional crafts from clay builders and blacksmiths to carpenters and stonemasons are shown and explained. You can also watch a candle maker, a glass bead turner and a coin sawyer at work. Bring your own blades to be sharpened by the knife grinder.

In addition to traditional crafts from earlier times, the Westphalian way of life today is still strongly influenced by agriculture. The market stalls offer a wide variety of products from the Soester Börde - from flowers, plants and medicinal herbs to various foods - mostly "refined" - for immediate consumption or to take away. For your physical well-being, there are various stands offering Westphalian delicacies from hearty to sweet.

Admission is free. The event is sponsored by Sparkasse Hellweg-Lippe and the Krombacher brewery.

Free P+R shuttle on Friday, 01.05.2026 (public holiday) and Sunday, 03.05.2026

As experience shows that the parking spaces in the center are occupied early, a free P+R shuttle with the Bad Sassendorf community bus will be offered on Friday, 01.05. (public holiday) and Sunday, 03.05. from 12:00 to 18:00. (In case of very bad weather/permanent rain, this will be canceled!)

The community bus runs from the Edeka/Aldi parking lot on Schützenstraße (free parking) to the town center (stop on Wasserstraße) and back. From the bus stop in the center, it is only a few meters to the pedestrian zone and from there approx. 200 m to the beginning of the market area.

Take advantage of this opportunity! If you park illegally, you will be ticketed!
Of course, it is even better - if possible - to arrive by bike or public transport!
