During rehearsals for a school play, Alice suffers a serious brain injury. Her mother's world collapses, but her sister Olivia doesn't give up hope. She reads to Alice from "Alice in Wonderland" and tries to reach her.
In Alice's inner world of thought, motifs from the story intermingle with memories and feelings. A moving struggle ensues as to whether the power of imagination is strong enough to lead her back to life.
Fairy tale and fantasy characters start all over again in a new world. In a class set up especially for them, they learn to find their place and start afresh together. But suddenly Cinderella disappears under mysterious circumstances and the fragile cohesion of the group begins to falter. The play was developed by the course participants themselves.
