With its fresh and energetic sound, The Jakob Manz Project is one of the most successful bands in German jazz. Hardly any other band elicits such rapturous applause from its audience. A direct and clear sound, rich dynamics, and emotional depth—these are the outstanding aspects of their music. The band plays a very groovy style of jazz, enriched by the four artists’ distinct personalities and numerous influences from funk, soul, pop, and film music.
The individuality of the band members is reflected in their diverse original compositions; each member brings their own unique touch to the music. Above it all shines the clear, firm saxophone tone of bandleader Jakob Manz, who regularly pushes his solo playing to the limit with authentic passion.
