This beautiful 40 km circular tour leads from Willingen to Diemelsee, a reservoir with a 200 m long dam wall, which is crossed on this route. Enjoy the beautiful scenery along the Diemelsee and the Diemel river.

Information

Directions

From the visitor center we go to the center of Willingen. There we turn onto Schwalefeld Straße in the direction of Diemelsee. We follow this road to the Diemelsee barrier wall and from there cycle along the Diemelradweg (recognizable by the ammonite signpost) to Usseln. The Diemelradweg always runs alongside the river through the beautiful Diemeltal valley. In Usseln, we turn into Sportstraße, then into Am Schneppelnberg and cycle back to Willingen as far as the visitor center.

We recommend functional, weather-appropriate cycling clothing, rucksack provisions, sufficient fluids (water, tea), air pump, repair kit and multi-tool.
