From 29.11.2025 to 11.01.2026, the Christmas tree trail will take you through the valley below the Christmas town of Schmallenberg between fields and along the Lenne river from dusk until dawn. The many illuminated Christmas trees along the way make the ice crystals glisten in the light. From the valley, you have a fantastic view of the historic Christmas town and the festively illuminated alleyways and half-timbered houses.

A rescue point system has been installed in the Hochsauerland district. Rescue points can be found on the information boards at the junctions and on the hiking signs.
