The Red Kite Trail starts at the Weddelsee lake in Medebach and initially leads through quiet, shady sections of forest before the landscape increasingly opens up and offers wide views over fields and valleys - ideal habitats for the eponymous red kite, which frequently circles over the open areas here.
The combination of gentle climbs and longer, even passages makes the trail a balanced terrain cure that gently and sustainably activates the cardiovascular system.

The longest and most challenging terrain spa trail in Medebach starts with gentle climbs up the Weddelberg and gets the cardiovascular system going at a steady pace. After this introductory woodland section, the landscape opens up more and more: the trail runs across wide meadows and gently rolling hills typical of the Medebach Bay. In these open areas, the red kite can often be seen circling high above the fields.

The route offers a balanced sequence of flat sections and gentle slopes, which allows for a constant effort and does not overtax the circulation. Towards the end, the trail again leads through sections close to the edge of the forest via the discovery trail up to the AVENTURA - SpielBerg and finally back to the starting point.

In this way, the red kite circuit combines natural diversity with a beneficial, well-dosed activation of endurance and cardiovascular function.

The Red Kite Trail is marked throughout with the blue-green Terrainkurweg 3 trail sign.The trail starts at the Weddelsee hiking parking lot and leads from the main trail to the right along a small path uphill into the Weddelberg. At the end of the small path, keep right onto the wider forest path, which offers wonderful views.At the hikers' parking lot, the tour leads to the left, then a little later to the left again along the edge of the forest with a view of the meadow landscape. The Weddelberg is now largely circumnavigated. We walk to the right, then shortly afterwards to the right again - on the left is the edge of the forest, on the other side a large meadow. At the end of this path, we turn left towards Winterkopf.Finally, we reach an asphalt farm track, which we follow to the left. We look towards Ferienhof Hasenkammer, AVENTURA and Center Parcs. The Red Kite Trail leads to the left, via the Medebacher Bergweg to the Motorikpfad with its small playground by the stream. Pass the vacation farm Zur Hasenkammer and cross the road in the direction of AVENTURA - SpielBerg.We are now on the Hasenkammer discovery trail. Once at the top, take a moment to enjoy the view at the photo point!We descend along the ball track. We turn right onto the nature trail below the Center Parcs, with a view of the Weddelberg. Turn left along a path to reach the tarmac cycle and footpath. At the end of this path, we cross the road to reach the Weddelsee lake. We circle the lake to the left, cross two wooden bridges and reach our starting point at the hikers' parking lot.
