The “Forst Oe1” hike begins at the church in Oesdorf, where there is also a parking lot. We follow Felsbergstraße past the cemetery and along a scenic trail with panoramic views through meadows and fields to the Felsberghütte. This mountain hut invites hikers to take a break and enjoy the panoramic view. The trail continues past the Karolinenhof to the Felsberg and then to the Wäschebach. From there, we head through the Wäschebach Valley to the Klingelbach rainwater collection system and continue north toward the soldiers’ graves in the Warburg Forest. We continue along the Oe1 trail past the Schurenberg to the Bleikuhlen, where we can admire the rare calamine violet. After a short rest at the Bleikuhlen and the heavy-metal meadow, we pass the boundary stone and follow the forest nature trail. As we emerge from the forest at the Felsberghütte, the landscape opens up again, and we’re treated to a “spectacular view.” Along the Eggeweg and the Oe1, we once again marvel at the panorama and reach Oesdorf, where there’s an opportunity to visit the Mariengrotte. We head back to the starting point along a narrow trail.
