The starting point for this hike is the Heringhausen-Strandbad parking lot. However, you can of course also start the circular tour around Diemelsee at any other point. The highlight of the H6 is the imposing barrier wall, over which you can walk and look down along the impressive walls to the Ausgleichsweiher pond and, on the other side, to Diemelsee. There are also several places to stop for refreshments near the Sperrmauer and in Heringhausen.

With a baby carriage, you can follow the H6 to above the Seehof/Knust campsite. At this point, however, leave the H6 and follow the path "Am Rasenberg" down to the lake. Rejoin the H6 at the "Tor zur Waldroute" parking lot near the barrier wall and follow the H6 over the barrier wall.
