The Ettelsberg Wildlife and Recreation Park is home to about 380 animals representing a total of over 80 species. These include, for example, fallow deer, red deer, and sika deer; predators such as brown bears and wildcats; and exotic animals like Barbary macaques and parrots, as well as wild boars, pot-bellied pigs, and much more. At the petting area, you can even get up close and personal with some of the animals and feed them.
Six days a week, there are multiple daily demonstrations featuring birds of prey, owls, and parrots. These are very popular with visitors. So are the playground equipment and rides, which provide a welcome change of pace for the kids in between.
The snack bar in the entrance area offers Italian dishes, hamburgers, currywurst, fries, delicious desserts, and specialty coffees.
But beware—there’s another dangerous species living in the dark spruce forest on Ettelsberg. Life-size dinosaur models give a true sense of the power and size of these gigantic prehistoric creatures.
