The Upper Sauerland Regional Forestry Office is one of the 16 forestry offices of Wald und Holz NRW. It is located in the heart of the Sauerland. With 67,000 hectares of forest, it is characterized by extensive spruce and Buchenwald forests, intensive hiking tourism and large nature reserves. Based on near-natural forest management, the Upper Sauerland Regional Forestry Office maintains partnerships with forestry, the timber industry, forest nature conservation and tourism, and the Sauerland is equipped with an extensive and well-maintained network of forestry trails, making a special nature and hiking experience possible.
