The 300-year-old Spieker is a landmark for the Ebbe community. The half-timbered building was used to store the goods that had to be delivered to the church. Its structural origins probably date back to the 17th century. The actual main building was built in its current form around 1800.

The Spieker is one of the oldest buildings in the municipality of Herscheid. The complex consists of a rubble-stone house dating from the 15th/16th century and a significantly younger half-timbered house with an attached stable. In earlier times, the building was used to store the produce that had to be paid to the church.
The Spieker through the centuries:
The lovingly furnished rooms of the Spieker house many exhibits from days gone by. Household appliances, furnishings, tools, pictures, and much more invite visitors on a journey into the past.
