To mark the 750th anniversary of the village of Referinghausen in 2019, the temporary Strohtherme pavilion celebrates a milestone in the village’s history: the supply of heat to all homes using bioenergy.
The straw used in the exterior wall serves as a metaphor for renewable raw materials. The steel basin filled with warm water symbolizes the energy derived from biomass. The unique atmosphere invited hundreds of visitors to learn more about sustainability and environmental protection.
