The Cross Chapel, which has been given a fresh coat of paint, was completed in 1872 as a fitting conclusion to the existing Way of the Cross and consecrated to the Holy Cross.
Since then, the chapel has given the idyllic Stillenberg the character of a replica of Calvary. In front of its portal stands a massive stone cross, one meter high, depicting the crucified Lord Jesus Christ, which greatly reinforces this character. The chapel is a popular place to find peace and quiet in prayer and invites hikers to pause and linger.
