Construction of the current church began in 1926, so that the foundation stone could be laid on May 1, 1927. On 29 June 1933, on St. Peter and Paul's Day, the Archbishop of Paderborn, Dr. Caspar Klein, performed the solemn consecration. The organ was damaged during the turmoil of the Second World War and was repaired in 1946 by the organ building company Stockmann from Werl.
