The artwork created by Bärbel Dieckmann shows the most famous scene from the life of St. Martin, the patron saint of Olpe: the encounter with a beggar and the sharing of the cloak. When asked what the bronze sculpture represents, the artist replied: "A compassion that goes beyond the church and the city.
The Olpe sculpture is unique.
