What is remarkable about this church, built between 1697 and 1700 on behalf of the Cistercian convent under Abbess von Aldenbruck, is its uniformity. With the exception of a few works of art (the Altar of the Virgin Mary and the Stations of the Cross), everything dates from the Baroque period!

The monastery church was built by the Catholic nuns despite being in a Reformed area. This shows just how great an influence the Cistercian nuns had in the Börde region.
