The "Man, Machine, Culture" bollard in Meinerzhagen, a creation by Ruhrgebiet-born artist Peter Jasinski, who devotes himself to figurative landscape painting in oil and objects, forms a prominent part of the "Bollards for the Volme Valley" project. This project comprises the installation of 20 artistically designed poles within the four municipalities of the Oben an der Volme region. These objects are designed to draw attention to specific characteristics of the Volme Valley, act as landmarks and encourage reflection.

The art project, initiated and supported by the VAKT art association from Halver, was funded by the NRW Ministry for Regional Identity, Communities and Local Government, Building and Gender Equality. The historical function of the rubbing piles in agriculture - as a rubbing surface for cattle - is transferred into a figurative context in the Volmetal. The artistic interpretations are intended to draw attention to regional peculiarities, open up discourse and enable an in-depth examination of local identity. The location of the object on the X20 hiking trail, which connects Schalksmühle, Halver, Kierspe and Meinerzhagen over a distance of 20 kilometers, offers accessibility to this work of art in public space.
