Sändkers windmill in Heintrop
Heintroper Str. 3
59510 Lippetal
Telephone: +49 2307 / 6633899
It has wings with a span of 20 meters. The mill tower and mill building are made of local sand-lime brick. The mill's interior and technology are still in place. The last miller, Wilhelm Sändker, closed the mill in 1976. Around 20 years later, the windmill was classified as a "technical cultural monument" and thoroughly renovated and restored in 1995. The wings had been dismantled for a long time and were reinstalled in 1996. The mill has been open to visitors again since 1997 - and since 2009 it has even been possible to grind again! A small exhibition in the mill shows its history and
is open to interested visitors every second Sunday of the month from 2 to 5 pm from May to September, as well as on Whit Monday, the Lippetaler Fahrradton (2nd Sunday in August) and Open Monument Day (2nd Sunday in September).
