#deinsauerland / Neusta POIs / Public library - Letmathe branch

The library branch has been located in the Letmathe House since 1978, parts of which are over 600 years old, making it the oldest building in Letmathe.
The building was extensively rebuilt and renovated in 2008/2009 and has been fully accessible since then.

The rooms house an adult and a children's library.

The adult library has been completely refurnished. Highlights include the hall with wooden floor and chandelier as well as the glass roof above the circulation desk.

The library lends out around 22,000 items, including 7,000 non-fiction books, 5,000 novels, 5,000 children's books and 5,000 non-books (audio books, DVDs, magazines, etc.).
There is an Internet station available in both the adult and children's libraries.

Bright, open and friendly - this is how the Letmathe children's library presents itself after its extensive modernization. A place not only for reading, but also for playing, learning, discovering and spending time together.

The old shelving walls have given way to flexible system furniture that opens up the view and creates new perspectives. Now children can go on their own voyage of discovery - whether between picture books, non-fiction stories or audio media.
Colorful carpets and comfortable seating invite children to linger, while a multi-purpose table provides space for creative group work.

Events that previously had to take place outside the library can now be held directly on site. Thanks to furniture on wheels and mobile technology, open spaces for reading sessions, gaming offers or school tours with projectors and iPads can be created in no time at all. Regular events are already proving very popular with children and families.

The presentation of media has also changed: Modern towers for new publications, attractive shelves for AV media and targeted zoning make you want to browse.

With the new concept, the children's library has become a "third place" - a space between home and school that impresses with its quality of stay, diversity and openness. And best of all, the feedback from visitors young and old speaks for itself - they enjoy coming and stay longer.
