The reservoir is located quite centrally in the Olsberg district. A path (Path to the Reservoir) leads directly from the town center to the weir.

The lake was created for power generation and is therefore, unfortunately, not suitable for boats or swimmers. A walk around the lake is definitely worth it. You can hike along the naturally preserved trail through the small oak forest, which is well-marked and signposted with the symbols 1, 09, or X1. You can cross the Ruhr Bridge to return to the town center from the other side of the lake.
