The ski jumping facility comprises three plastic covered hills with profiles K 12, K 37 and K 65. The large plastic covered hill in particular is of historical significance: when it was built in 1964, it was the largest plastic covered hill in the Federal Republic of Germany.
The jumping tower reaches a height of around 38 meters. Ski jumpers can reach speeds of around 70 to 75 km/h on the inrun and the maximum jump distance is around 66 to 68 meters. Today, the facility is used to promote young talent as well as for performance-oriented training. Further information is available from the Meinerzhagen Ski Club.
The circular hiking trail along the Sauerland-Höhenflug "Vom Wasser haben wir's gelernt" also runs along the Meinhardus Mattenschanzen . From the entrance portal to the Sauerland-Höhenflug, there is a fantastic view of the ski jump area, which also gives non-ski jumpers an impressive view of this special sports facility.
