The area around Meinerzhagen is known as an extensive and varied hiking area. Around 300 kilometers of marked hiking trails open up the landscape around the three idyllic Fürwiggetalsperre, Genkeltalsperre and Listertalsperre dams. The offer is complemented by themed trails, nature trails and guided hikes on the well-known Sauerland-Höhenflug long-distance hiking trail. The tourist information office provides numerous free hiking suggestions.

The Meinhardus Mattenschanzen, the Volmequelle, the Romanesque Jesus-Christus-Kirche (Rhenish gallery basilica), the Mühlhofe bone mill and the romantically situated Badinghagen Castle are among the destinations worth seeing in the town area.

With its combination of nature experiences, diverse hiking offers and regional sights, Meinerzhagen is an attractive destination for recreation seekers and activity enthusiasts all year round.
