Listertalsperre

The Listertalsperre offers a wide range of recreational activities. In addition to sailing, fishing, surfing, and swimming, the area is particularly popular with hikers, walkers, and cyclists. Around the lake, well-maintained trails, numerous benches, and several forest "sofas" provide opportunities for relaxing breaks with views of the water and the surrounding landscape.

Designated swimming areas in the Meinerzhagen area:

• Heiligenberg Swimming Area

• Windebruch Swimming Area

Swimming area in the Drolshagen area:

• Badestelle Kalberschnacke

In addition, several well-known trails run around or along the reservoir:

• Bigge-Lister Circular Hiking Trail (approx. 45 km)

• Bigge-Lister Lakes Route (bike tour, approx. 50 km)

• Bigge-Lister-Höhenroute (bike tour, approx. 64 km)

Fishing opportunities are available for anglers (fishing license required).

Additional Information

The Listertalsperre is operated by the Ruhrverband. Fishing licenses are available directly from the Ruhrverband as well as from the Biggesee-Listersee Tourism Association.

Please note:

• Swimming is permitted only at the designated swimming areas.

• Due to the high risk of wildfires, barbecuing and lighting campfires in the forests surrounding the reservoir—especially during the summer months—are strictly prohibited.
