Here, visitors can learn about the history of the dam and the lake, as well as electricity generation. 


An impressive photo exhibition depicts the Edersee region before the construction of the Eder Dam, the construction of the Eder Dam, the submerged villages and their inhabitants,  the destruction of the dam during World War II and its reconstruction, as well as Lake Edersee at low water levels (“Edersee-Atlantis”) when the submerged villages reappear. You’ll also find information on the hydroelectric power plants, a cutaway model of the cavern power plant, and a large-scale model of the Edersee region. In addition, you can take the funicular to the “Zum Waldbölker” restaurant and enjoy the beautiful view.
