The Stauweiher Heinsberg hiking parking lot - located on the L713 between Heinsberg and Hilchenbach - is the starting point for the Sauerland hiking villages.

The "Stauweiher Heinsberg" hiking parking lot is the starting point for the "Krenkeltal & Goldener Zapfen" quality tour (approx. 11 km long circular tour) and also offers a relaxing rest stop thanks to its idyllic location. The "Krenkeltal and Goldener Zapfen" quality tour offers a variety of insights into the nature and cultural history of this region. For example, at the "Aqueduct" Rothaarsteig adventure station and with the audio story "Dreiherrnstein" from the "Border Stories Up Close" series, which tells the eventful story of the dispute over land between the Archbishop of Cologne, the Count of Nassau and the Prince of Wittgenstein.
Sturdy footwear is recommended for this medium-difficulty circular tour!
Other hiking tours are available from the hiking parking lot: A hike along the Rothaarsteig access trail along the Heinsberger Heide and through the Schwarzbachtal valley to the Rhine-Weser Tower (observation tower, restaurants) is also possible.
