The Rothaarsteig, also known as the "Path of the Senses", runs for 156 km in a north-south direction over the ridge of the Rothaargebirge mountains. The 5th stage of the long-distance hiking trail passes by the Helberhäuser Hütte. It is also possible to join the Hilchenbacher Höhenring . This is a wonderful 24 km circular trail, which is ideal as a day hike with a walking time of approx. 6 hours. You can also walk towards Oberndorfer Höhe and the"Goldener Zapfen" viewpoint.
