The Heimatstube, located at Nachrodt-Wiblingwerde Straße 8a in the center of Wiblingwerde, was opened on September 30, 1990.
The former fire station at the elementary school in Wiblingwerde was turned into a museum of local history, including an extension, by volunteers. The collection focuses on the rural household of the 19th and early 20th centuries.
Not only does history become tangible and customs come alive here, but the Heimatstube also functions as a lively venue for events organized by the Heimat- und Verkehrsverein e. V.: themed evenings, lectures, guided tours, club meetings or the harvest festival take place here and on the forecourt, as well as civil weddings. Appointments can be made with the registry office of the municipal administration, Tel.: 0 23 52 / 93 83 41.
A high-speed internet connection is available, as are a kitchen, toilet and storeroom. The neighboring shed also houses other exhibits, especially large historical appliances.
