The moated castle of Hainchen is an architectural testimony to the various eras of Siegerland history. It was first mentioned in documents in 1290. Over the centuries, Hainchen moated castle has changed hands several times. It experienced its heyday under the Lords of Bicken, who owned it for more than 350 years. From 1815, under Prussian state ownership, the castle gradually fell into disrepair. Since the 1970s, the Siegerland Castle Association has been the sponsor of Hainchen moated castle. The association is highly committed to making the castle an experience.

Today, Hainchen moated castle is a popular excursion destination. The 33,000 m² park invites you to linger. On Sundays, public holidays and Wednesdays, you can take a break in the old coach house. There are 15 simple rooms available for overnight stays in the Wasserburg Hainchen. There is a conference room for seminars and couples can get married in the newly furnished wedding room.
