The starting point is the Heed hiking parking lot, from where the forest activity trail runs in gentle loops around the Heedberg. Along the way, numerous forest discovery stations invite you to actively explore the forest habitat. The special stations include a dendrophone, where different types of wood can be made to sound, and a forest classroom, which is ideal for nature-based environmental education.
A special highlight is the viewing point with forest sofa, which offers the opportunity to relax and let your gaze wander over the wooded landscape. An overview board at the starting point provides information about the route and all the stations. The Wald-Aktiv-Pfad app can also be downloaded here free of charge. The app provides exciting background information and multimedia content directly to your smartphone via location signals at the individual stations.
There are other attractive hiking trails in the immediate vicinity, including the Bergischer Panoramasteig and the Sauerland-Höhenflug circular trail. The Genkeltalsperre dam is also within walking distance. A hiking overview board at the parking lot provides additional orientation.
Another small highlight along the way is the Heed witches' oak with rest area and legendary radio play station, which invites you to take a short break with a mystical touch.
