The Diemel in the guest stretch is between 5 and 10 m wide, both fast and slow flowing, mostly with clear visibility. Underwater vegetation (herbs and algae) and bank vegetation (trees, shrubs, reeds, tall grasses) are patchy.

Alternative fishing opportunities can also be found in the Westheim district or at the Diemelsee lake.

You can get to Marsberg... ... by car: - A44 Dortmund-Kassel (Marsberg junction, Lichtenau junction) - B7 Chemnitz-Düsseldorf (direct connection) - A33 Paderborn-Osnabrück (about 30 minutes) - B252 Blomberg-Marburg (about 20 minutes) - A7 Kassel-Hannover (about 60 minutes) ... by train (every hour): - Dortmund-Sauerland-Express (Warburg-Dortmund) - Three stops in Marsberg: Bredelar, (Nieder-)Marsberg, Westheim - Direct connection to the IC/ICE stations Warburg and Dortmund Marsberg railroad station is centrally located in the town center. In addition, there are around 1,000 free parking spaces within 500 meters of Marsberg town centre, including the Park & Ride parking lot in the street "An den Gleisen".
