TheD3 hiking trail is located west of Wirmighausen at an elevation of about 400 meters above sea level. Its peaceful setting on the edge of the forest makes it an ideal retreat for hikers, cyclists, and nature lovers.
The expansive landscape of fields, forests, and meadows of the Rottenberg stretches out before you. The open surroundings offer magnificent views over the rolling hills of the Diemelsee vacation region and convey a sense of vastness and freedom. Nature shows itself at its most beautiful, especially in the morning hours when the landscape slowly awakens, or in the evening bathed in warm light.
The surrounding area is perfect for long hikes and bike rides. At the same time, the trekking site offers a peaceful place to relax, where you can enjoy the silence and leave everyday life behind. With a little luck, you might spot deer, hares, or various bird species that call the surrounding meadows and forests home.
The trekking site is accessible only on foot or by bike and is an excellent stopover for anyone who wants to explore the Diemelsee vacation region in a way that’s close to nature.
