Curioseum

At the Curioseum, you can discover and marvel at what Hans Schlömer from Willingen collected, purchased, and built over the course of his life. Most of these are curiosities from Germany and around the world, which have come together to form an astonishing exhibition.
Spanning 2,500 square meters, the museum features thousands of exhibits spread across two floors. The 650-meter barrier-free tour takes visitors on a journey filled with educational and unbelievable items. From the sad remnants of Willingen’s aviation history to delicious canned monkey brains and the one-of-a-kind Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing, there’s something worth seeing here for everyone.
Visitors who find themselves shaking their heads should take a second look here and there to perhaps understand the ideas and stories behind the exhibits on display. Otherwise, a guided tour of the Curioseum can help shed a little light on the matter.

Classic Car Collection
At the Curioseum, you can view 50 classic cars, 20—sometimes quirky—microcars, and vintage motorcycles. You can also see vintage tractors dating back to 1920, technical equipment, an extensive maritime exhibition, and the original Seehund-class submarine from World War II.
Enthusiasts can admire, for example, a beautiful Jaguar E-Type or an Austin Healey Sprite MK 1, which the owner even used to drive himself.
Some of the tractors on display have been restored, while others remain in their unaltered original condition, offering an educational journey back in time to the history of agriculture.

Panoptikum: Flashy—Quirky—Rare
Numerous display cases feature unique collector’s finds. Immerse yourself in a world full of curiosities where nothing seems impossible. The highlight for many visitors will likely be the moon rover, even if it’s certainly no longer roadworthy. Those who enjoy a good scare will also get their money’s worth at the Curioseum. In one section of the exhibition, visitors are accompanied by the Terminator Schwarzenegger and other non-human mythical creatures. The word “crazy” probably sums it up best—fun for the whole family.
