The Burgruine Waldenburg is the oldest non-sacred historical monument in the Olpe district. It is located above the Waldenburg Chapel and Biggesee. The castle can be reached via the paved road toward Bürberg. After about 300 meters, a forest path leads across the moats to the ruins.

Another forest path begins near the Waldenburg Chapel and initially runs parallel to the reservoir, but later branches off toward the ruins.

Coming from Attendorn, cross the Bigge Bridge toward Helden, then turn right after 50 m toward Waldenburger Bucht. The ruins are located on a hill directly next to the Bigge Dam in the Sauerland. Parking is available at Waldenburger Bucht near the Waldenburg Chapel.
