Town Hall Square was completely closed to motorized traffic, thereby creating space for a multifunctional presentation of history (the monastery church’s floor plan, including as a sculpture that visitors can walk through and interact with) as well as visual integration with the pedestrian zone.
The redesign of the town hall forecourt into an area reserved for pedestrians extends the current pedestrian zone
westward, incorporating one of the city center’s main attractions—
—the town hall and the adjacent Klosterplatz.
