Alte Pastorat

Historic City Center

#deinsauerland / Neusta POIs / Alte Pastorat
The Alte Pastorat is one of the historic treasures of Menden’s Altstadt. Following the devastating city fires of 1637 and 1663, the building was rebuilt in 1666. The distinctive fieldstone structure, with its half-timbered gable and crested hipped roof, continues to tell the story of Menden’s eventful history to this day. The building has been a designated historic landmark since 1983 and is a fine example of the city’s historic architecture. The Alte Pastorat is a former parsonage and today serves as the headquarters of the Menden Parish Association, housing the parish office.
