The Campingplatz Margaretensee is located directly on the 18-hectare Margaretensee, which was created in the late 1950s and today offers a diverse recreational area. Large sections of the south and west shores are located within a nature reserve, while the remaining shore areas are accessible via the campground.
Camping and Mobile Home Sites
For long-term campers, there are approximately 400 sites ranging in size from 80 m² to 180 m². All sites have an electrical hookup, and many also have water and sewer connections.
There are 45 sites for mobile homes, ranging in size from 180 m² to 250 m², each with electricity, water, and sewer connections. Dogs are allowed on the mobile home site. Mobile homes may not exceed 40 m² in size or 3.5 m in height. Permanent residence on the site is not permitted.
Pitches for Travelers
Travelers passing through are also welcome. Near the main entrance, there are RV and camping sites, some with lake views. Guests can arrive with a trailer, RV, or even a bicycle and tent.
Modern restroom facilities, including accessible options, are available. Electrical hookups are also available.
Recreation Right on the Lake
Right on Lake Margaretensee, there is a large playground and sunbathing area with access to the lake. There is also table tennis, a beach volleyball court, and a children’s playground.
Use of the sunbathing area is free for campground guests. Other visitors pay an admission fee. On particularly busy days, access for non-campers may be restricted, as campground guests have priority.

Charging Stations for Electric Cars
New for the 2026 season are three 11-kW charging stations for electric cars located along the main path. Charging costs 45 cents per kW.
Long-term campers can contact the administration via email at mentzelsfelde@t-online.de and will then receive an invitation link for the corresponding mobile app. Usage will be billed with the annual statement.
Campers passing through can pick up a key at the ticket office. To do so, they must fill out a SEPA direct debit authorization form; the corresponding amount will then be debited.
