On the first Sunday of Advent, the Kulturring once again welcomes listeners of all ages to one of its popular interactive concerts for children featuring the Tiritomba ensemble.
Charlotte-Maria Brückner (narrator, mezzo-soprano), Svenja Kohlmann (narrator, violin), and Andrea Kramer-Rodermund (piano) whisk all the children away into the world of the forest dwellers, where things have gotten a bit chaotic just before Christmas. The story centers on Alma the squirrel, whom no one believes when she says she heard a singing bell. But Alma knows for sure what she heard! Determined, she sets off on an adventurous quest to find the singing bell.
Along the way, she meets many animals and bravely faces every challenge. She learns to ice skate from a fox, goes sledding with a hedgehog, and helps a skunk decorate a Christmas tree.
And so, with the active support of the children and the helpfulness of the forest animals, she finally manages to solve the mystery and even ends up as a guest at a very special celebration in a very special stable…
In addition to well-known Christmas carols to sing along to, such as “Star Over Bethlehem,” “Snowflake in a White Skirt,” and “Silent Night,” melodies by Beethoven, Strauss, and Bach accompany this musically imaginative journey through the winter forest.
