The Christmas market is open on Thursday and Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The Sunday shopping day will take place on December 6, 2026.
Visitors can expect a wide variety of gift items: large Christmas figurines, nativity scenes, jewelry, cards, floral arrangements, candles, arts and crafts, wickerwork, glass and porcelain, wood and wool items, tin toys, handmade goods, and much more. In addition to traditional artisans, local artists and craftspeople are also represented at the Christmas market.
Local clubs—many of them charitable—and schools offer not only sweet treats and punch but also Christmas gifts and handmade items. Guests are traditionally guided through a village decorated with fir branches, wood chips, and bales of straw.
There’s plenty of food and drink to enjoy as well, ranging from grilled culinary specialties to sweet treats. A large historic tavern with a campfire invites visitors to linger.
On Saturday and Sunday, as dusk falls, St. Nicholas brings small gifts for the children in attendance. An atmospheric stage program featuring a wide variety of musical performances, juggling acts, and fire shows rounds out the popular Olpe Christmas Market.
