From 2006 to 2019, Folk im Schloss was an established and extremely popular concert series in Lippstadt. Partly as a soloist, partly with various guest musicians, Denis Brandt (fiddle, guitar, mandolin, banjo, vocals), then an English and sports teacher at the GSO, presented a varied program of jigs, reels, polkas, hornpipes, slow airs and sang love songs and, of course, drinking songs. In addition, he entertained his audience, which consisted not only of fans of Irish and Scottish folk music, with cabaret-style historical and regional information and anecdotes.
Now the entertainer and multi-instrumentalist is returning to "his living room" with his partner Ulli Menke (guitar, vocals) and other colleagues. They invite you to dream yourself into the cozy atmosphere of local pubs and the magical landscapes of the islands through the sounds of often traditional songs. Anyone who has the time and inclination to wander a little further afield, even if only musically, should keep this evening free.
