Concert POP ROCK SYMPHONY

A musical highlight of a special kind will take place on November 14, 2026 at 19:00 (admission from 18:00) in the Schmallenberg town hall. The Sound Project from Fleckenberg is planning a major concert with the Philharmonie Südwestfalen, which is known far beyond the region.

"POP ROCK SYMPHONIE" brings together two musical ensembles for an exciting
performance: What is otherwise familiar from radios and streaming playlists unfolds a new dimension here
. Popular world hits from the 70s, 80s and 90s, performed
by a first-class orchestra together with the sound of a modern choir. The 120
musicians will transform the Stadthalle into a very special orchestral and vocal
concert experience with arrangements by Abba, Queen, Seal, Coldplay, John Farnham and
many other artists. An evening for all those who love rock and pop and want to experience it in a completely new way.

"With the POP ROCK SYMPHONY, the Fleckenberg Sound Project dares to do something special: they bring the great hits of youth to the Schmallenberg Town Hall - and let them shine in a completely new sound with 66 professional musicians from the Philharmonie Südwestfalen and the choir.

The Philharmonie Südwestfalen has been able to call itself the State Orchestra of North Rhine-Westphalia since 1992. 66 professional musicians form the basis of its success. The orchestra is based in Siegen, but has long since made a name for itself beyond the South Westphalia region and internationally. Musically, the Philharmonie Südwestfalen covers a
broad spectrum. The orchestra sees itself as a concert orchestra for the classical and romantic repertoire, but has made a name for itself in recent years with new musical genres. The orchestra often accompanies concert choirs and accepts invitations as a guest orchestra from major musical theaters and singing stars.

The Fleckenberg Sound Project was founded in 1995 and has gradually developed musically over the years
. Under the direction of
Dirk Steffen, the choir has now been awarded the title of "Master Choir" four times and enjoys great popularity far beyond
the town boundaries of Schmallenberg. The musical spectrum is
very broad: Musical songs, chorales, sacred choral literature as well as folk songs,
classical pieces, pop and gospel songs, but also modern choral literature are part of the
repertoire. Just over a year ago, the highly acclaimed and musically high-quality project with the "Sauerland Winds" orchestra - the Symphony of Unity by Guido Rennert - was performed.
