This forest adventure hike leads to a highlight of the Rothaarsteig, the fire oak with its imposing titanium flame, inaugurated in July 2003. It documents the history of mankind in interaction with wood as an energy source in impressive pictures using different materials and stands on the watershed between the Rhine and Weser rivers as a memorial and symbol for a sustainable approach to our natural environment.
The ranger leading this excursion knows even more secrets of this 8 m high sculpture and also explains the accompanying Rothaarsteig information station "Warmth grows in the forest". As the contact person on the trail, he aims to provide all participants with a lasting experience of nature and is available to answer questions about his various tasks and the forest.
