In 1824, a small country brewery in Grevenstein began brewing beer according to the German Purity Law. More than 180 years later, one of the most modern private breweries in Europe presents itself here: the C. & A. VELTINS brewery.
The foundations of this unique success story of the company, which has been run by the Veltins family for five generations, are investment strength, entrepreneurial vision and a corporate culture that is characterized in equal measure by team spirit and the highest quality standards. Thus, to this day, the premium beer is brewed exclusively from the highest quality ingredients - malt, hops, yeast and the purest spring water - strictly in accordance with the Purity Law of 1516. The water, which rises in the mountains around Grevenstein, is exceptionally soft. This is a key reason for VELTINS to brew beer exclusively in the Pilsen style since 1926: VELTINS Premium Pilsener.
However, the success story began much earlier. In 1852, founding father Clemens Veltins took over a small country brewery in Grevenstein in the Hochsauerland region, where he supplied 150 hectoliters of beer a year not only to his own guests but also to many pubs in the surrounding area. Since 1994, Susanne Veltins, the fifth generation, has continued the successful history of the C. & A. VELTINS brewery.
Guided tours take place on Tuesdays at 9:30 am. There are no tours on holidays and between Christmas and New Year's Eve.
