The Sauerland has been awarded the title of Sustainable Destination 2024 by the renowned certification company TourCert. Sauerland Tourism has achieved this success together with its sustainable partner businesses, which have joined together to form a network and want to make it possible for guests to experience this locally. These include tourist information offices, accommodation providers, restaurants and excursion destinations.
As "Germany's inspiring outdoor region", we want to work with our partner businesses to make sustainable travel and vacation experiences possible and continue to expand them. Quality is our top priority, because sustainable tourism is not possible without high-quality products and offers. Authentic offers, regionality and living and working in harmony with nature are the guiding principles of our tourism work. Guests and the local population should be offered and preserved a well-preserved natural and living space for inspiring outdoor experiences. Sustainability in the Sauerland also requires respectful and fair treatment of all employees.
