It is not certain whether there was a church in the village in the Middle Ages. There is no documentary tradition about it. There is no tradition about the origin of the first church from 1667, it stood on the site of the present building. In 1869 a new building was started, the consecration in June 1871. Soon the chapel proved to be too small and in 1900 the neo-Gothic hall church was extended and consecrated in 1905. In 1956 a massive 24 meter high church tower was erected.
