In 1647, the chapel of St. Jakobi in Bremscheid was consecrated. It is closely connected with the former noble seat and later manor Bremscheid of the family von Esleben. In 1692 the chapel receives a bell with the inscription: 1692 SOLI DEO GLORIA (glory to God alone). In 1827, the house and the chapel became the private property of the Bürger family.
