Economic development agency arranges store on Warstein's main street
Warstein, October 26, 2021. The operators of the Kaiser Heinrich Bad, Petra and Thomas Heutger, are opening a store on the main street in Warstein under the name "MeerSinn & mehr". In the course of the Immediate Inner City Program of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Municipal Affairs, Building and Equality of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and the State Initiative Future Inner City, business promoter Dirk Risse was able to arrange the store for the two entrepreneurs.
Driven by the lockdown and with the aim of building up another business segment, the idea of selling stone figures for home & garden on the side was born. Spurred on by the good sales of these products, the idea of the economic promoter Dirk Risse came just in time to open a store as a show and sales space. "MeerSinn" is the name of our salt cave in Belecke. In the new store at Hauptstraße 90, not only stone figures, but also salt gifts and tickets or vouchers for the salt cave are available," Petra Heutger describes the business model. "We ourselves have taken such a liking to the frost-proof and weather-resistant figures that we now have around 200 different figures in stock. Small figurines weighing from one kilogram up to 300-kilogram figurines for the driveway or the garden are available," adds Thomas Heutger.
Since the goods are available in stock anyway, it was not too much of a hassle for the operators to set up a store, which will officially open on October 28, 2021, from 3 to 8 p.m. The risk is also very manageable due to the partial lease over two years. "The Downtown Immediate Program has been set up for these business models. Self-employed people who want to try out a second mainstay or even prospective self-employed people who are looking for a store have the opportunity to take advantage of a favorable rent for two years through this immediate program of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia in order to keep costs low, especially in the initial phase. With this property, we have succeeded in revitalizing the third store and eliminating a vacancy," explains Dirk Risse.
