The managed lookout tower (refreshment and overnight accommodation) is located at 684 m above sea level directly on the Rothaarsteig and offers a fantastic panoramic view.
It is also an ideal starting point for numerous hikes such as Border Stories Up Close - From the Rhein-Weser-Turm into the Schwarzbachtal.
At the Rhein-Weser-Turm there is also a cross-country skiing center with a cross-country skiing school and ski rental and it is the starting point of an extensive well-maintained network of cross-country ski trails (Rothaarloipe).

Christa Gattwinkel as Türmerin of the year 2019/2020 of the Rhein-Weser-Turm has written four children's stories about Rheini the Rhein-Weser-Turm. The landmark of the municipality Kirchhundem is to move through this more in the perspective and the interest of children.
