The reservoir is quite centrally located in the district of Olsberg. From the center, a path (path to the reservoir) leads directly to the weir.
The lake is created for power generation and therefore unfortunately not to use for boats or swimmers. A walk around the lake is worthwhile in any case. You can walk along the naturally preserved path through the oak grove, well marked and signposted with the signs 1 , 09, or X1. Over the Ruhr bridge there is the possibility to return to the center of the village on the other side of the lake.
