In 1860, the then mine director Kleffner of the Kilianstollen created the meeting place for young and old.
Over the years, the facility fell into disrepair and only ruins remained. In 1994 the Verkehrsverein Marsberg e.V. started with the renovation. On September 04, 2004, the 1st construction phase, the creation of the cascades, was inaugurated. In 2008, the 2nd phase of construction began with the restoration of the fountain with spouting lion's head.
The Paulinenquelle is still a popular destination for excursions.
