The first known church in Eslohe was built at the beginning of the 13th century. The bell from 1465 is the oldest in the bell tower today. The construction of the present church began in 1775 with the construction of the tower. In 1777 the interior of the nave followed. After the roof was completed in 1780, an altar could be erected in the tower. The collapse of the choir loft in 1782 was a major setback in the progress of the construction work. The consecration of the church took place in 1783.
